The Sex Lives of College Girls, written by and starring Zoe Lister-Jones, premieres on Netflix in all its mediocre-but-almost-funny-enough-to-watch glory on Aug. 25.
This time, Lister-Jones has joined a cast of four very capable actresses: Desiree Akhavan (Love, Grisha, Appropriate Behavior), Madeline Brewer (The Ballad of Buster Scruggs), and Aja Naomi King (Late Night, The Chi) join Kerry Bishé, a fresh new face. The credits, which Blanché shared in a tweet Thursday night, make the film look decidedly fuzzy in places, particularly around the accents, but the good bits seem to outweigh the few bad ones.
Also starring in the film are Nina Arianda, Gabe Rodriguez, Caitlin Fitzgerald, Will Forte, Thomas Middleditch, Billie Lourd, and Erin Moriarty.
The Hollywood Reporter offers a roundup of what to expect from the story, which, according to Blanché’s post, “centers on four privileged college girls who struggle with the pressure to graduate on time and become the perfect intern. The teens struggle with infertility, but are fine enough that they go for jobs and spend summer vacations binge drinking.”
