Dangerous Side Effects of Mobile Game Addiction: Children Becoming Aggressive
Raipur.
Mobile gaming addiction is emerging as a major concern among children, leading to dangerous side effects on their mental and physical health. Doctors warn that the obsession with mobile games is making children aggressive, impatient, and even prone to mental health disorders like schizophrenia.
According to experts from the Psychiatry Department of MB Ayurvedic Hospital, 10 to 12 percent of children coming for treatment are found suffering due to mobile game addiction. Children are demanding instant results, becoming violent when restricted, and often arguing with their parents.
Negative Impacts of Mobile Addiction
Declining communication skills
Risk of schizophrenia-like symptoms
Loss of focus and distraction
Weakening of eyesight
Disturbed sleep cycle
Reduced physical activity
Hormonal imbalance and obesity
Alarming Cases
Specialists reveal that children between the ages of 13 to 17 are highly vulnerable. Many such children are so engrossed in online games that they stay awake until late at night, avoiding studies, meals, and social interaction. This addiction is causing behavioral changes where children are losing interest in outdoor activities and family interaction, showing signs of social withdrawal and irritation.
